Why PGA Pros Should Watch the Social Media Presentation

Eric Jones, MA, PGA pictureHere is a quick testimonial from one of the PGA Professionals in attendance at the Northern California PGA Section Educational Seminar on Social Media Marketing and Web-Based Marketing. The seminar was led by Eric Jones, Al Weinhold, and Rick Laforet of the NCPGA golf section.

The NCPGA challenged us to do a proof-of-concept during the seminar. We decided to use as an example the type of activity we thing all golf courses and professionals should be using in their marketing – video.

The goal was to take a quick testimonial from one of the PGA Pros at the seminar. Do a quick edit of the testimonial to show how easy and quick the editing process could be.

Then we uploaded the testimonial to an account already established at YouTube.

Next we downloaded the code for the video and installed it in this post.

The entire process took about 20 minutes. As we all know, video is “sticky” content. Your website visitors will stick around a little longer to watch an interesting video, much more so than they will to read an interesting article. The videos themselves don’t have to be anything super-special. They are just a way to get new and fresh content on the site.

If you don’t already have a flip video camera or some other web-ready recording device, we highly suggest picking one up and putting it to good use.

In this video we’ll hear from John Snopkowski. PGA Professional at Santa Teresa Golf Course talk about what he learned and how excited he is to bring this information on Social Media Marketing back to his staff.

Thanks for watching!
